Anita H. Ketola, CHMM is a Project Consultant and Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) in SME’s Plymouth office. As a member of our Environmental Services group, she manages a variety of projects including environmental due diligence, site assessments for brownfield redevelopment support, underground storage tank (UST) closures and assessments, hazardous building materials assessment, and abatement. Anita has 15 years of experience. Her expertise includes due diligence, environmental health and safety compliance and auditing, industrial hygiene, environmental assessment, and remedial design and oversight.

Anita holds a BS degree in Earth Sciences from Eastern Michigan University. Along with being a CHMM, she is a Licensed Asbestos Inspector through the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA) program. She holds several MIOSHA certificates – Occupational Health, Level I Safety & Health General Industry, Level 2 Compliance for General Industry, and Safe & Health Management System. Anita is First Aid/CPR/AED certified, OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER certified, and trained as an ISO 14001:2015 Lead Auditor. She is a board member of the Michigan Association of Hazardous Materials Professionals.

In her spare time, Anita enjoys walking, hiking, travel and pop culture. She enjoys music and has a serious love of European Power and Symphonic Metal bands.
