Keith is a Senior Project Engineer for SME’s Pavement team, which is part of our Facilities and Infrastructure Services Group. He has 27 years of civil engineering experience, with a demonstrated ability to meet stringent project requirements while working directly with owners and contractors. His experience includes overseeing consulting services related to pavement, structural materials, nondestructive testing, and building system components. Keith’s expertise is in materials evaluation testing, with an emphasis on soils, pavement, concrete, and foundations. He began his career at SME as part of our Co-op Program and worked his way up to Senior Project Engineer and Project Manager. Keith obtained his BS and MS degrees in Civil Engineering from Lawrence Technological University, where he also served as an Adjunct Professor for 13 years. He is a registered Professional Engineer (PE) in Michigan and Ohio, as well as a Licensed Residential Builder in Michigan.

Keith performs reviews and makes recommendations for roadways, airport runways, tunnels, foundations, buildings, and other structures. He also provides customized design and consulting for new and rehabilitated asphalt and concrete pavement. Keith is responsible for providing project management including technical, administrative and budgetary oversight of multiple projects. He prides himself on earning the reputation of working well with fellow employees and as part of diverse teams with other engineers, contractors, technicians, and project managers.

Outside the office, Keith enjoys sailing both large and small boats, and skeet shooting.
