Paul D. Roberts
Project Geologist
Environmental Services
Paul D. Roberts tackles a variety of environmental assessment, remediation and brownfield redevelopment projects. He specializes in complex subsurface investigations and the design and implementation of remedial alternatives at commercial and industrial sites. Paul endeavors to listen to his clients, seeking to understand their project needs and build trust and meaningful relationships by communicating critical information to both his clients and members of the project team.

Paul is known for developing unique approaches to investigate and solve environmental challenges before jumping into a project, and then pursuing creative solutions. He is particularly good at leveraging multiple lines of evidence to evaluate and resolve environmental concerns, working with various stakeholders, including regulators, to accomplish client goals. Anyone who knows Paul knows there will be a lot of fun in the collaborative process.

Paul strives to be his client’s one-stop for environmental help, and because of his strong knowledge of SME’s diverse technical service areas, he can be a great resource for challenges beyond environmental, such as issues with building materials, constructability, and pavements. He is very pleased to have recently been elected to the 2015 Board of Directors for the Michigan Association of Environmental Professionals.

To find Paul outside of work, you will have to push through the wilds to find him kayak fishing and backcountry camping.
