Location: Grand Rapids, and Shelby Township, Michigan and Cleveland, Ohio

SME is looking for full-time CMS Technicians to join our Grand Rapids, Shelby Township, Michigan and Cleveland, Ohio offices. The emphasis of these positions will be to perform quality control evaluations on concrete, soils, asphalt, masonry and other construction materials at construction sites and in our labs. This work will require close coordination with SME Team Members and project personnel and daily preparation of field observation reports.

Requirements for these positions include:

• A minimum of 3 years of experience.
• Associate’s degree in Concrete Technology or Civil Technology or related experience.
• MCA or ACI Level I Concrete Certification and MDOT Density Certification. MDOT Bituminous Certification a plus, but not required;
• A solid understanding of basic engineering concepts;
• Attention to detail, good writing and excellent communication skills;
• An excellent driving record;
• Ability to work outside, at construction project sites, in various weather conditions;
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds repetitively;
• Ability to stand for long periods of time; and
• Ability to work occasional overtime, weekends, and travel out of town, overnight to meet the needs of our clients.
