Location: Plymouth, Michigan

SME is seeking a Senior Materials Consultant to join our growing Materials Services group in our Plymouth, Michigan office.  This role requires a candidate with technical expertise in: building materials, with an emphasis on concrete, building materials failure analysis, repair and maintenance; Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) equipment, procedures, and analysis.

Responsibilities for this position will include:
• Developing materials services projects and clients;
• Managing technicians and junior engineers throughout Michigan;
• Helping to enhance the visibility of SME’s materials experts;
• Project and team management; and
• Developing, writing and reviewing proposals, specifications, and complex reports.

Additional requirements for this position include:
• Project and team management experience,
• Ability to develop and manage technical scopes,
• Scheduling and budgets; and
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Occasional travel may be required to meet client and project needs. Preference will be given to local candidates.
