SME is seeking a regular, full-time Air Compliance Specialist to join our Environmental Services team in our Plymouth, Michigan; Indianapolis, Indiana; or Cleveland or Cincinnati, Ohio office.

Responsibilities for this position will include:
• Performing project management activities;
• Calculating air emissions at industrial facilities;
• Reviewing operations and conducting emissions inventories;
• Developing and implementing air emission evaluations;
• Preparing of air emissions permits; and
• Consulting with clients on regulatory applicability, and preparing compliance reports associated with air permit requirements.

Requirements for this position include:
• A Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering;
• 7 years of related experience;
• Strong knowledge of environmental compliance regulations and application;
• Strong problem solving and writing capabilities;
• Ability to work independently and in teams;
• Exceptional ability to synthesize data and ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with staff scientists, project managers, and clients; and
• 40 hour Hazwoper is preferred.
