SME's Family Continues to Grow

SME is pleased to welcome our newest team members:

William Z. Hawley
In January 2016, Zach joined our Shelby Township Construction Materials Services (CMS) team as a Laboratory Technician. A graduate of Alpena Community College, he holds an Associate’s degree in Concrete Technology. With 2 years of experience, he is a certified Concrete Field Testing Technician and has been certified in Nuclear Density/Moisture Gauge Use and Safety.

Kyle P. Areaux, EIT
Kyle joined our Shelby Township Construction Materials Services (CMS) team as Staff Engineer in March 2016. He recently obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Western Michigan University. During college, he completed two co-op programs with the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) and is certified in Nuclear Density. He brings 2 years of field experience to SME.

Neal J. Gerlach
Neal joined our Plymouth Construction Materials Services (CMS) team as a full-time Staff Specialist in March 2016. He began his career with SME as a Co-op and Intern in our Kalamazoo office. Neal has a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from Western Michigan University, where he served as a student member for the American Institute of Professional Geologists (AIPG).

Andrew J. Holmes
Andrew joined our Shelby Township Construction Materials Services (CMS) team as Engineering Technician in March 2016. He is pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from Michigan Technological University. With hands-on experience in the concrete industry, Andrew is certified in Nuclear Density/Moisture Gauge Use and Safety.
