SME APPOINTS NEW DIRECTORS

SME President and CEO Mark K. Kramer, PE announced the promotion of Chuck A. Gemayel, PE to Director of Group Operations and Timothy J. Mitchell, PE to Director of Regional Operations. Both will continue to support clients in a technical capacity on projects, and along with other members of the SME leadership team, will work to strategize for the future.

The announcement comes as SME implements several changes to its business structure, including a realignment of service areas into Business Units designed to focus on client needs, as well as the addition of new service groups and promotions across all of the firm’s offices in Indiana, Michigan and Ohio.

“This is an exciting time for SME and we are pleased to have Chuck and Tim performing in these new roles,” said Kramer. “Their contributions are important to SME’s future growth and our clients’ continued success.”

In his strategic role as Director of Group Operations, Gemayel leverages his nearly 30 years of experience to focus on improving technical, project management and service delivery capabilities; risk management and quality control; and helping to grow and improve client relationships. Gemayel also serves as Project Manager and is an expert in pavement design, management and evaluation. He manages projects throughout the United States including highways and airfield pavements. He specializes in nondestructive evaluation of pavement structures.

As Director of Regional Operations, Mitchell’s new focus is on developing SME’s regional office capabilities and performance; growing local and regional clients into global clients, and facilitating resource-sharing and client satisfaction between all SME’s offices across the Midwest. Mitchell is well-known for providing geotechnical engineering expertise and superior service to SME’s clients. With over 30 years of engineering and construction experience, he provides senior technical review and project management for complex geotechnical and foundation construction projects.
