Tiffany Vorhies Selected to Attend First NACE Leadership Program

SME is proud to announce that Tiffany D. Vorhies, NACE CIP-2, has been selected to participate in NACE International Leadership Program pilot course. Tiffany will join 23 other industry professionals in Houston, Texas, from June 21-24 to collaborate on how to advance their leadership skills.

Participants were selected after meeting several prerequisites that set them apart as leaders in their industries, and after submitting written endorsement from both their employer and a peer who holds a leadership position within NACE.

The 3-day program is designed to prepare members to ascend as leaders not only in their job and industry, but also within NACE International. Sessions will focus on a variety of topics, including: strategic thinking and planning, awareness of industry trends, association management and governance, coaching and developing others, as well as interpersonal relationship skills.

Tiffany is the Group Leader for SME’s Steel/Coatings/Nondestructive Testing Services Group, which includes managing a team of certified coating and steel inspectors at SME. She has been performing coatings inspection and specification for nearly 10 years, and is considered a local expert for coating assessments. Tiffany currently serves as chair of the NACE Detroit chapter where she networks with many coatings professionals throughout Michigan, Indiana and Ohio. She previously served as NACE Detroit vice-chair for two consecutive years, and volunteered as a mentor for the NACE Mission Detroit veteran program. In addition, Tiffany is a member of the Society for Protective Coatings (SSPC), the MUST and MOST Safety Programs, and the Data Integrity Security Administration (DISA).
