SME ADDS TALENT TO GEOTECHNICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES

SME is proud to announce the addition of two experienced professionals to its Geotechnical and Environmental Services Business Units. Jeremy Wahlstrom, PE, brings 12 years of geotechnical engineering and construction materials testing experience to the firm’s Grand Rapids office and Troy Helmick, CPG, brings 18 years of experience providing comprehensive environmental consulting to the Plymouth office.

Wahlstrom is skilled in planning and directing geotechnical investigations; performing engineering design and analyses; and conducting condition assessments of subsurface structures and pipelines. He provides engineering services for projects ranging from small commercial buildings to large public works projects. Wahlstrom brings to the firm a wealth of experience in forensic investigation and expert witness testimony. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in Michigan. Wahlstrom earned a Master’s degree in Geotechnical and Pavement Engineering, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Michigan State University.

Helmick manages environmental due diligence projects and has in-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements associated with petroleum remediation and emergency response activities, underground and aboveground storage tank (UST/AST) assessments and removals, and groundwater and soil contaminant investigations. His expertise includes vapor intrusion assessments and groundwater and soil contaminant investigations. Helmick earned a Bachelor’s degree in Geological Sciences from Albion College.
