James E. Alvarez, LPG is primarily responsible for consulting on environmental issues. He is experienced in providing services to industrial and commercial entities for environmental due diligence, assessment and remediation projects. He has extensive knowledge of environmental permitting and compliance requirements across the U.S. and many areas globally. Jim has a B.S. in Geology and is a Licensed Professional Geologist in Indiana, Alabama and Mississippi. He is also associated with the National Association of Environmental Managers and has participated in industry-specific associations in the Midwest.

Jim is driven by knowing that each day may bring the opportunity to have a positive impact on people he interacts with. Whether it’s in the dynamic of his family and friends or the team of people with whom he interacts at work (both co-workers and clients) Jim is driven to provide opportunities and solutions to problems which help others achieve success. Jim has a special knack for looking at the big picture and providing creative solutions to issues where others could not see a clear solution. This often leads to cost-effective resolutions and satisfied clients. Along with providing excellent customer service, he enjoys building long-lasting relationships with clients and helping to make SME our clients’ trusted “environmental solutions partner.”

In his free time, Jim enjoys football, basketball and playing/coaching soccer. He is a Youth Mentor and CYO Soccer Commissioner at his church and enjoys anything outdoors, especially if it includes relaxing on a beach or hiking in the mountains.
