SME provided multidisciplinary environmental, geotechnical, remediation, and construction support services for the transformation of the former Rogell Golf Course into Rogell Park Nature Park, a 98-acre recreational destination and key connection to the Joe Louis Greenway. Working alongside project partners and the City of Detroit, SME helped address complex environmental conditions, support regulatory approvals, and advance construction of trails, wetlands, bridges, boardwalks, and open green spaces that reconnect residents to the Rouge River corridor.
The project transformed a long-vacant golf course into a vibrant community asset featuring restored natural areas, recreational trails, wetland enhancements, and improved neighborhood connectivity. The redeveloped park expands access to outdoor recreation while supporting environmental stewardship and ongoing revitalization efforts throughout northwest Detroit.
