SME April 2025 Promotion Announcement

We are pleased to announce that Davin Ojala and Andrea Galli have been recognized as new Regional Leaders at SME. Their passion, leadership, and drive to achieve greater success will be instrumental to driving growth in their respective regions.

Davin Ojala is an environmental consultant with over 25 years of experience at SME helping clients assess, manage, and redevelop environmentally impacted properties. Born and raised in the Kalamazoo area, Davin takes great pride in serving the community where he grew up. He leads SME’s Kalamazoo office, focusing on the management of projects involving contamination assessment, regulatory compliance, real estate due diligence, and brownfield redevelopment and financing. Davin is experienced in the investigation and remediation of contaminated sites under Michigan’s Part 201 program. He is also an accredited Asbestos Building Inspector in the State of Michigan and has conducted or managed numerous assessments of buildings slated for renovation or demolition. A graduate of Western Michigan University, Davin holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Resource Management.

Passionate about helping clients and others succeed, Davin enjoys building relationships and learning about ways SME can support project goals and community development. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time outdoors, coaching youth soccer, and mentoring young athletes both on and off the field. He is also a proud father of two daughters currently in college.

Andrea Galli is the Regional Leader of SME’s Macomb office and is a Project Consultant for the Environmental Services group. Andrea has over 13 years of experience providing consulting for brownfield redevelopment projects, performing environmental due diligence, and completing underground storage tanks (UST) assessments and removals. She enjoys building relationships with SME’s clients and finding innovative solutions that balance meeting regulatory requirements with practical, real-world project needs. She is an Environmental Professional (EP) as defined by U.S. EPA 40 CFR Part 213, Standards and Practices for All Appropriate Inquiries.

Andrea earned a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science and a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Wayne State University. Having attended college in Detroit, she has a deep connection with the city and is passionate about seeing its continued redevelopment and growth. She loves attending Detroit sporting events, going to concerts, and trying new restaurants in her free time. At the heart of everything she does, Andrea’s real motivator is her family – especially her three daughters. They inspire her to work hard and pursue goals that reflect the values we all share.

Both of our new regional leaders have deep connections with their communities. They’ll oversee the day-to-day operations in their respective offices, with a focus on achieving strategic goals related to their office’s growth. Additionally, they’ll continue in a technical capacity to support SME’s clients in environmental management.
