SME Promotes Team Members to Key Corporate Leadership Positions

As SME continues to thrive, and strategizes for the future, we are pleased to announce the promotion of several Team Members to key corporate leadership positions. These individuals are well respected among our team and have developed strong relationships with our clients as their trusted advisors.

Tiffany Vorhies, NACE CIP-2, PMP has been promoted to Director of Project Management. She will lead the charge in developing and training all of SME’s Project Managers and Assistant Project Managers to elevate their skills and capabilities and ensure SME continues to provide best in class service to our clients.

“I am extremely excited to support our Project Managers in this new role. SME’s project management foundation is built on technical experts who get the work and manage it. As we grow with our clients and take on larger projects, we identified the need to provide more tools and support for our PM team. This is one way of supporting our team and taking care of our clients!”, she said.

Tiffany holds a degree in Construction Management from Eastern Michigan University, is a Certified Project Management Professional (PMP). She has been with SME for 18 years and spent much of that time building our Steel, Coatings, and Nondestructive Testing service group from the ground up.

Lou Northouse, PE has been promoted to Director of Regional Operations. Lou will serve in a senior leadership capacity, providing oversight of our regional operations, which includes team member and client relationship development, expansion of our technical service offers, while ensuring the continued success of execution of current projects. Lou has been with SME for 25 years, holds a degree in Civil Engineering, and has a record of excellence in developing and growing our people, taking care of our clients, and delivering the utmost quality on project leadership and deliverables.

Andy Bolton, PE is the new Regional Leader for SME’s Grand Rapids, Michigan office. Andy is a Geotechnical Engineer and Virginia Technological University graduate who has worked in the Grand Rapids region for most of his 18-year career. In this role, Andy will provide leadership to our Grand Rapids team, strengthening their technical, project management, and service delivery capabilities. He will also continue to support our clients on projects and build SME’s brand in West Michigan.

Brendan Lieske, PE is the new Regional Leader for SME’s Cleveland, Ohio office. Brendan is a Geotechnical Engineer and holds degrees in both civil and geotechnical engineering. He has a passion for mentoring and developing the team around him to ensure our clients receive the best possible solutions and service on their projects. In his new role, Brendan will continue to grow SME’s presence in Northeast Ohio and beyond, leveraging the strong relationships he has built during his 15-year career.
